The Reclaimer

  • Descriptive Overview
The Reclaimer is a stand-alone liquid processing system designed to rapidly treat and disinfect black water – wastewater from toilets – to ISO 30500 standards, resulting in clean water that can be fed back into the system for flushing or used for other non-potable purposes such as irrigation or washing. The Reclaimer combines three treatment modalities into a compact, automated system. The technology can treat liquid waste from household or community toilets and discharge from dewatered sludge or septic tanks.
  • Key Features
    • Combines three treatment modalities into a compact, automated system (ultra-filtration, activated carbon and electrochemical oxidation)
    • Operates independent of water or sewer connections
    • Ideal for both urban and remote environments
    • Can be scaled depending on use case and is compatible with both squat and pedestal toilets
    • “Buffered batch” processing allows system to accept waste while operating
    • Options are in development to enhance nutrient removal
  • Use Case Details
    Household or community toilets
  • Dimensions (meters)
    Current Prototype: 2.2 * 0.94 * 0.53 (Height * Width * Depth)
  • Other Waste Accepted
The Reclaimer accepts liquid wastes from households / community toilets or effluent from dewatered sludge / septic tanks.
  • Regularly Scheduled Required Maintenance
Annual carbon filter replacement; periodic membrane cleaning depending on influent
